Thriller on Tait Avenue!

This was the second year that Don Fox and partner Kathy Koga dressed up as zombies for Halloween, along with friends Ray Klopp, Jennifer Hunter, Azi Afifi and Nima Adelkhani.

On Monday afternoon, they set up a stage outside Fox's and Koga's home located at 223 Tait Ave. and re-enacted Michael Jackson's Thriller every 20 minutes on the hour, starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m.

The street is the center stage for a Halloween multiple-block party town residents and their children absolutely enjoy. They trick-or-treat from Main to Bachmann avenues asking for candy and then catching the Thriller performance as the icing on the cake.

Last year, Fox and Koga gave away 3,000 pieces of candy to all the pirates, ghosts, fairies, ninjas, princesses, cats, witches and other unholy creatures that stopped by their house to see them dance the fun steps to the famous 1983 Michael Jackson song.

"It's really fun and people absolutely love it," said Fox of his reasons for putting on the zombie costume and makeup, practicing the steps, decorating his house and buying a trunk full of candy for children and adults alike to enjoy.

Koga said the group learned the Thriller steps by going to YouTube where they found a video made by a woman who specializes in teaching the dance's steps.

"Tait Avenue is just one of the most popular places for trick-or-treating in town," Koga said. "So it's appropriate."

Fox and Koga said they were thankful that the owners of allowed them to use one of their dance studios for free to practice the steps in preparation for Halloween 2011.
