  • Cleaning downtown garbage receptacles.
  • Sanding and painting hand rails in the downtown parking garage.
  • Clearing brush at Worcester Park.
  • Clearing outside and work inside at the Youth Science Institute in preparation for summer  programs.
  • Replacing some wooden benches in Oak Meadow Park.

According to John Lynch, a spokesman for the service project, the LDS Church, also known as the Mormon Church, views this day as an opportunity for its members to serve the community. It's also a chance for anyone to share their time and talents to bless the lives of others, he said.

Lynch hopes the event will become an annual spring tradition led by the church, but supported by the community at large in a spirit of love and service.

After the service project, volunteers are invited to meet at Oak Meadow Park to enjoy hot dogs and drinks.
