A large dump truck caught on fire twice Tuesday, first on Bear Creek Road in Los Gatos at about 11:30 a.m. and then at 2:28 p.m. on Capri Drive.

According to a Santa Clara County fire spokeswoman, who declined to be identified, the first blaze caused about 8,000 in property losses to the truck, which was smoking in the middle of the roadway as its driver was attempting a climb.

The California Highway Patrol assisted firefighters with traffic in the first incident and called for towing services. Then, after firefighters extinguished the first fire, the truck caught on fire again on Capri Drive, more than six miles away from the first blaze.
